The MAPS Bulletin is published by the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies. It first appeared as the MAPS Newsletter, a one page letter in 1988. In 1995, after growing successively longer with each issue, the "Newsletter" became the MAPS Bulletin. Some issues also began featuring color covers.

The Bulletin is published tri-annually, and all MAPS members recieve a complimentary suscription. MAPS also distributes the Bulletin as an educational tool to about 400 scientists, government officials, drug war prisoners, and influential academics.

Interested parties wishing to copy any portion of these articles are encouraged to do so and are kindly requested to credit MAPS, including name and address. The Bulletin is produced by a small group of dedicated staff and volunteers focused primarily on assisting scientists to conduct human studies to generate essential information about the risks and psychotherapeutic benefits of MDMA, other psychedelics, and marijuana, with the goal of eventually gaining government approval for their medical uses.
