MAPS Public Benefit Corporation (MAPS PBC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies (MAPS),has recently expanded their team with three new leaders bringing decades of experience relevant to the MAPS PBC mission: catalyzing healing and well-being through psychedelic drug development, therapist training programs, and sales of prescription psychedelics prioritizing public benefit above profit.

Dr. de Boer joined MAPS PBC as the Chief Medical Officer following eight months of consulting with the team on drug development projects. Dr. de Boer quickly became a trusted adviser for many stakeholders through her demonstrations of expertise and commitment to excellence. She received her medical degree from Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, and completed residency and fellowship training in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology. Her Ph.D. was focused on peritoneal dialysis in children, and she joined the academic staff at the Radboud University after completing her training. Before moving to the United States in 2000, she worked as a Pediatrician in the largest inner-city hospital in Amsterdam, where she was responsible for in- and outpatient pediatric care. For the last 20 years, Dr. de Boer has contributed to the development of meningococcal and hepatitis vaccines during her tenure at GSK vaccines and Dynavax prior to starting her own consulting company where she provided strategic advice and support for a variety of clients working on biologics, small molecule/polymer therapeutics and vaccines.

As the Head of Commercialization and Patient Access at MAPS PBC, Ms. Cooper will help lead the company into the next phase of growth, guided by values and experiences that are aligned with its vision and mission. Ms. Cooper co-founded and served as Chief Operating Officer of Groups, a venture-backed healthcare services company that is tackling the opioid epidemic in rural America with a national network of outpatient treatment centers. Groups has pioneered a value-based reimbursement model that aligns payer, provider, and patient incentives around quality of care and outcomes. Prior to starting Groups, she helped launch GiveDirectly, a global nonprofit that gives no-strings-attached cash to people in extreme poverty and conducts rigorous, experimental evaluation to measure impact. She previously was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company and Director of Operations at the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), where she designed and implemented large-scale HIV treatment programs in Sub-Saharan Africa. Ms. Cooper holds an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a BS in international affairs from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.

Here at MAPS PBC, I’ll be supporting a holistic approach to healing from the inside out.”
Ms. Scott leads human resources at MAPS PBC, supporting the organization and its team through growth, managing change while stewarding its culture. She brings more than 20 years of experience in the human resource field including supporting hundreds of local businesses, start-ups, and national companies during her 15-year tenure at Automatic Data Processing. An ardent champion of diversity, inclusion, equity, and veteran advocacy, she founded and served as CEO of Civilian Connections, a non-profit addressing the employment gap for Veterans. Ms. Scott holds the Professional in Human Resources, Society for Human Resources Management Professional, and Veterans at Work certifications. She attended Southwest Institute for Healing Arts to acquire a Certificate of Excellence in Life Coaching and volunteers as a deputy board member of the Arizona Society for Human Resources Greater Phoenix Chapter, mentors veterans and military spouses through the Veterati program, and coaches at the ChangeMaker summit empowering young adults by creating equity through entrepreneurship to solve problems in their communities.
