Welcome to MAPS

Changing minds since 1986

After decades of research, we’ve reached the next great revolution of psychedelics.

At MAPS, we believe psychedelics are powerful tools for healing the psyche. For the past 35 years, our clinical trials have shown the benefits and potential of psychedelics in hopes to rewrite their cultural context. It’s our mission to create a world where psychedelics and cannabis become available for safe, legal, and beneficial uses, and governed by rigorous scientific evaluation.

Opening doors and minds around the world.

With strong roots in the U.S., we’ve grown our clinical research program to the reaches of Canada, Europe, while collaborating with communities in Africa, Australia, as well as Central and South America, in an effort to research, educate, and reform psychedelics in modern society.

Healing is
a Human Right

Our Health Equity Program was created to catalyze equitable access to healing by creating opportunities for those who have been systemically marginalized by society. Thanks to donors and supporters, we’ve not only developed a diverse network of clinics and therapists who ensure cost is not a barrier to this groundbreaking treatment, but we’ve awarded $410,000 in tuition scholarships to more than 100 trainees, prioritizing scholarships for Black, Indigenous, as well as practitioners of colors, those from immigrant and refugee communities, and all trans and gender non-conforming practitioners.

The Zendo
Project

Creating Communities of Compassionate Care

This year, millions of people will use psychedelics without the proper education or supervision. The Zendo Project was created to provide comprehensive harm reduction education and demonstrate how safe, productive psychedelic experiences are possible without the need for law enforcement-based prohibitionist policies.
