Julie Blaisdell, Regulatory Operations Specialist (MAPS PBC)

Julie Blaisdell joined MAPS PBC with nearly ten years of experience in academic clinical research. Most recently, as Research Operations Manager for Northwestern University’s Department of Radiology, she oversaw a team of study coordinators and provided regulatory, logistical, data management, and statistical expertise to support over 100 active research protocols and 50 investigators. Prior to this, she served in research coordinator roles, managing drug and device trials and other biomedical studies for Northwestern’s cardiovascular imaging section and Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute.
As an undergraduate, Julie worked as a research assistant with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) Affective Neuroscience Laboratory where she contributed to EEG- and fMRI-based neuroimaging studies of acute stress disorder, PTSD, and depression. She earned a bachelor of arts in psychology and biology from UWM in 2012 and a master of science in epidemiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2018.
Julie is enthusiastic about ethical and methodologically sound research and was drawn to MAPS PBC by these shared values. She resides in the Chicago area and can often be found spending quality time with her husband and pets, reading, sewing, enjoying loud music, or working on her very old house.
