Lena Covington, Market Access Marketing Manager (MAPS PBC)

Lena has worked in strategic business operations for the majority of her 20-year career.  She ran daytime operations at the age of 16 in her family’s Italian restaurant in Winthrop, Maine before enlisting in the Navy and serving six years as a SONAR Combat Systems specialist and trainer, then as an Emergency Operations supervisor for Naval Station San Diego. 

After completing her bachelor’s in business management and receiving her M.B.A., Lena was hired by Downtown Vision, the Chamber of Commerce in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida as a market research analyst and strategist.  Most recently, she consulted as a market access project manager for 1798, LLC, leading and supporting strategic market access initiatives in a wide range of disease states and therapy types.

Lena still works with the Navy as Command Ombudsman for Littoral Combat Ship Mine Warfare Division Two Two at Naval Station Mayport in Jacksonville, Florida.  Her husband is a 17-year, six-time deployed Chief Petty Officer and dogfather of their three dogs: Spud, Isis, and Sir Henry “Dart” d’Artagnan.  She is a musician, writer, and runs Dungeons and Dragons games most weekends.
