Mela Sims comes to MAPS Public Benefit Corporation with over 10 years of experience across positions in associate chemist and quality management roles in industry supporting SOP, training development, continuous improvement/KPI development, supplier relations, and in her most recent role, serving as a project and technical manager for a multi-state organization with over 700 members.
Mela is skilled in supporting third party audits, inspections, and comes to us with a broad array of IT related systems experience, including proficiency in reading and performing SQL queries via MySQL. She has graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Science Degree in Information Technology from the Florida Institute of Technology, and Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences from North Carolina State University.
In her new role at MAPS PBC, Mela will organize and oversee the QAU department project portfolio of work units across the QMS covering Policy and SOP development, Training Oversight, Inspection Support, Vendor Qualifications, CAPA Tracking, Risk Management, Governance Metrics, and associated communications.
Mela is fluent in Spanish and in her spare time enjoys playing guitar, drums, and piano.
