Naveed Emadi earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 2017 from the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Prior to joining the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) and/or MAPS Public Benefit Corporation (MAPS PBC), Naveed worked as a quality assurance specialist, where he helped a cannabis testing laboratory create and implement SOPs, finalize method validations, and comply with BCC (Bureau of Cannabis Control) and ISO 17025 Standards/Regulations, in the state of California. He has also worked for a biotech company in which he ran analytical assays to determine the drugs stability, during the process development stage.
At MAPS PBC, Naveed is currently serving as an independent rater coordinator, supporting and aiding the Independent Rater Team. He joined MAPS PBC in 2020 as a clinical study assistant working on the VA studies.
Naveed joined MAPS/MAPS PBC to make a difference in the world for individuals who are suffering, and to provide alternative and educational insight on psychedelic therapy. He hopes to help improve the alternative options for treating mental illnesses and stigma around psychedelic usage.
In Naveed’s free time, he enjoys to go hiking in nature, meditating, producing music, traveling the world, and enjoying time with family and friends.
