Steven Carrasco, Clinical Systems Specialist (MAPS PBC)

Steve(n) Carrasco earned a master’s degree in public health in 2013 from the University of California Los Angeles where he focused on health disparities among sex workers in the red-light district of Kolkata, India. Prior to joining the MAPS Public Benefit Corporation (MAPS PBC), Steven worked in public health research where he managed immunotherapy cancer trials, tested innovative devices for early breast cancer detection, and improved access for marginalized communities. Most recently, he worked in hemophilia and sickle cell disease research where he focused on healthcare cost, resource utilization, and cost-effectiveness.

At MAPS PBC, Steven is currently serving as Clinical Systems Specialist, focusing on regulated systems access and support. Steven is passionate about the advancement of psychedelic research, particularly related to psilocybin and Ayahuasca. In Steven’s free time he enjoys traveling, and discovering new culinary creations, especially tacos.
