Sue Melnyk, Development Director

In May, 2021 Sue Melnyk was chosen to be MAPS’ first national Development Director tasked with developing and leading fundraising initiatives. Sue is honored and inspired to be playing an important role in creating a profound shift in mass mental health delivery and its ability to affect our individual and collective consciousness.
Sue began her career as a community organizer and fundraiser for community Right to Know laws. Seeing how individuals could make significant changes to their own communities and beyond sparked her life-long commitment to social change.
She brings over 30 years of experience in health and community fundraising and development, including capital campaigns, major gifts, corporate giving, annual funds, and special events. In addition, over that time she has become very successful at connecting individual, corporate, and foundation philanthropists with important health and social service organizations, in order to bring equity to marginalized communities.
Sue lives in Columbus, Ohio, and enjoys spending time in nature in all its forms, whether hiking, kayaking, gardening, or just enjoying a beautiful sunny day.
