Stanislav Grof, M.D., discusses The Ultimate Journey
Thursday, February 1 at 7 p.m.
1126 Soquel Ave.,
Santa Cruz, CA
This evening lecture will explore the ideas discussed in the author’s new book, based on half a century of consciousness research with and without the use of psychedelic substances. It will focus on such topics as near-death experiences (NDEs), the posthumous journey of the soul, the ancient books of the dead, survival of consciousness after death, and psychedelic therapy with terminal cancer patients. We will pay special attention to dying before dying – experiences of psychospiritual death and rebirth in shamanism, rites of passage, the ancient mysteries of death and rebirth, the great religions of the world, psychedelic therapy, experiential psychotherapy, and spontaneous episodes of non-ordinary states of consciousness (“spiritual emergencies”).
