Rak Razam, author of Aya: A Shamanic Odyssey and editor of The Journeybook: Travels on the Frontiers of Consciousness, along with Art Director Tim Parish will be doing readings from the Journeybook and selling copies of “the word’s best psychedelic anthology” this Sunday, September 23rd in Santa Cruz at Caf Mare. The Journeybook is an anthology of altered states, essays, history and manifesto for psychedelic culture in the 21st century. It covers the modern usage of sacramental plants and offers insights into traditional and contemporary shamanism, as well as analysis of the current state of global psychedelic culture and its place in a sustainable future.

Join us for a night of discussion and celebration, featuring author David Jay Brown (Brainchild, Mavericks of Medicine) as well as members of MAPS (recently featured in the Good Times cover story) in discussion with the Journeyers talking on the psychedelic renaissance, medical and religious use of entheogens, and the 2012 target window for cultural change. Following the panel discussion, audio delights will be provided until Caf Mare closes its doors for the evening. Stridah (http://soundcloud.com/acklabs) will be providing beats for your dancing pleasure until Mr. Projectile (http://www.semisexual.com/releases/) takes over to close things out. This is surely an evening not to be missed!!
