Israel: MDMA/PTSD Site Team Prepares for Subject Screening

On June 7, 2012, Mimi Peleg, the new Clinical Research Associate for MAPS’ upcoming Israeli study of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD completed a site visit report to help the study investigators in their final preparations for starting the study and screening subjects. In the last couple of months, Mimi has been working closely with the new Study Coordinator, Edo Elan, to complete all the steps necessary to conduct a high-quality clinical trial. The site team is busy gathering the furniture, couches, bedside tables, lighting fixtures, and décor necessary to transform an empty hospital building used mostly as a meeting room into an appropriate “living room style” setting for MDMA-assisted psychotherapy sessions. We are adding comfortable accommodations for overnight stays by subjects (and perhaps a significant other). The building already has a kitchen and bathroom, and will also contain the study coordinator’s office. MAPS welcomes Mimi and Edo and thanks them for their continued work to start the study.
