Burge speaks about MAPS’ current psychedelic and marijuana research program, highlights the various accomplishments of MAPS’ crowdfunding efforts, and details the results and progress of MAPS’ clinical research into MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD. “The MDMA is making those other types of psychotherapy more effective by reducing fear and enhancing empathy,” explains Burge. "It’s not just some kind of magic bullet where that’s in the MDMA that cures people—it’s using MDMA to facilitate these existing evidence-based forms of psychotherapy."
