Writer and performer Adam Strauss talks about his new show at “The Mushroom Cure,” running through August 7th at The Cherry Lane Theater (38 Commerce Street). Strauss’ one-person show was inspired by a scientific study showing that hallucinogenic mushrooms may cure obsessive-compulsive disorder. He tells the story of how he uncovered an underground community of chemists and had a love affair with a psychologist who took him on as her unofficial research subject.
