Wonderland: MAPS Fundraiser Benefit Concert (San Diego, California)

October 13, 2017

From the event website:

Join us for the night of your life, Wonderland, San Diego’s first ever psychedelic fundraiser concert! Dance to locally grown tunes and receive hot-off-the-press updates in the field of psychedelic science, all while supporting government-approved research into the therapeutic use of psychedelic substances. One third of ticket sales go to MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies), a non-profit organization investigating MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for severe Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Wonderland is hosted by The Nest and San Diego’s own singer-songwriter, Grayson Scheiner (The Great Silver Sun). Grayson was exposed to the therapeutic potential of psychedelics while obtaining his BS in Cognitive Science at UCSD. He then became inspired by the research and familiar with the work of MAPS. Today, melding his passion for music, mind, and medicine and bringing it full circle, he presents you with Wonderland.

This event will feature a live presentation on current psychedelic research and the steps to becoming a psychedelic therapist, by Shannon Clare Carlin, MA, MAPS Therapy Training Program Manager and Zendo Project Community Engagement Coordinator. Also featured is the debut of Grayson Scheiner’s band project, The Great Silver Sun. Matt Larson, who holds an amazing collection of rare art records, will be DJ-ing with an eclectic mix. Artist Kelly Einbinder will be at the event, presenting a collection of original artwork.
