“Psychedelic drugs are poised to be the next major breakthrough in mental health care” — Scientific American
From depression to anxiety, from trauma to addiction — new research is demonstrating that psychedelic substances can be extraordinarily effective in treating some of the most prevalent psychiatric conditions of the modern world.
SSDP Österreich(Students for Sensible Drug Policy) and the Psychedelic Society Vienna have teamed up to get a conversation going about this exciting new research field in Austria.
Join us at the University of Vienna, where we’ll explore the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in the field of Psychedelic Science, a multi-disciplinary research endeavor that spans medicine, psychology, neuroscience and beyond.
The event will feature speakers from:
– Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS): the non-profit that achieved a Breakthrough Therapy Designation for MDMA-assisted psychotherapy in the United States
– International Center for Ethnobotanical Education, Research and Service: an organization dedicated to marshal the forces of the ethnobotanical knowledge of the indigenous peoples and modern therapeutic practice.
– Local pioneers of psychedelic research
