Vienna Youth Summit: Sensible Drug Strategies (Vienna, Austria)

March 10, 2018

From the event website:

Young people from around the continent will gather in Vienna for the first ever European SSDP Summit.

With the evolution of discourse at the highest political level, approaches towards scheduled substances, the people who use them and our understanding of the so called ‘World Drug Problem’ also needs to be adjusted.

How are global trends reflected at the local level? What direct experience do specific demographics have with these? How do “bottom-up” changes in policy influence the future of politics? How are the relevant organizations, groups and networks dealing with the changing situation?

To cover these questions, SSDP Vienna is hosting a one-day workshop that is educational, interactive, and impactful for young activists. We are opening a dialogue that fosters a rational and evidence-based approach to the inevitable changes in drug regulation and related fields of policymaking.

Hosting this event directly prior to the United Nation´s Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) gives us the unique opportunity to engage and formulate a youth platform for the conference, amplifying the voices of a demographic often marginalized at the UN.

The event is free but due to limited seats, registration is required.
Program Breakdown will be emailed to registered participants.
