June 2021 Giving Report: MAPS Raises Over $3.54 Million for Psychedelic Research and Education

In June 2021, we raised $3,542,800 in donations and pledges from over 1,400 supporters. Of this amount: $3,000,040 is for Phase 3 Europe; $491,176 is for general support; $50,000 is for publishing; $1,206 is for MDMA-related projects; $250 is for ibogaine research; and $128 is for psychedelic harm reduction and peer support.

We extend a special thank you to our monthly donors who contributed a total of $35,525 in June. Your support is vital in making our programs sustainable.

In addition to the funds raised in June, we gained support from 6 individuals in the form of a planned gift or bequest to MAPS. These planned gifts were made with the help of FreeWill, a free online tool that allows US-based individuals to plan a legacy gift for the non-profit of their choosing.

MAPS is honored to support a number of like-minded organizations by providing fiscal sponsorship so that contributions for their social benefit projects consistent with MAPS’ mission may be tax-deductible as allowed by law. An additional $142,855 was raised by organizations that MAPS fiscally sponsors including: Center for Consciousness Medicine ($100,000); Bluelight ($25,003); Cosmic Sister ($5,000); People of Color Psychedelic Collective ($5,000); MDMA The Movie ($3,000); EntheoWheel ($2,500); Brooklyn Psychedelic Society ($1,033); Enthea ($1,000); Somatic Center Portland ($110); Psykia Institute ($72); The Psychedelic Renaissance ($50); ICEERS ($40); Empyrean Temple ($25); MAPS Canada ($20); and Kahpi ($2).

We extend a warm welcome to the newest members of MAPS’ fiscal sponsorship program: Grof Legacy Project USA promotes awareness, understanding, education and training relating to the theories, practices, facilitation techniques, counseling strategies, and healing modalities developed by Stan Grof. MAPS relies on the generosity of individual donors to achieve its mission. Psychedelic science is again being conducted under federal guidelines, but no funding for psychedelic therapy research is yet available from governments or major foundations.

Together, we can legalize psychedelic medicine. Donate now at maps.org/donate
