November 12th, 2010
On the evening of November 12, 2010, MAPS will host Lakeside, an autumn gala celebration and silent auction. This event will take place at the Lake Chalet Bar and Grill overlooking scenic Lake Merritt in Oakland, California. Attendees will enjoy a light dinner, drinks, and entertainment, and will have the opportunity to go on an intimate gondola ride around Lake Merritt!
Organizational and research updates will be shared by MAPS founder and Executive Director Rick Doblin, Ph.D., and members of MAPS Clinical Research Team. Just in time for the holidays, this event will feature an auction of rare psychedelic memorabilia, including laboratory glassware from Sasha Shulgin’s lab, signed Albert Hofmann collector’s items, original visionary artworks, and one-of-a-kind jewelry and custom clothing (Alexander “Sasha” Shulgin and his partner Ann documented the creation and exploration of MDMA, 2C-B, and hundreds of other psychedelic compounds in their books PIHKAL and TIHKAL; Albert Hofmann, Ph.D., is the late chemist who invented LSD in 1938).
If you are a business owner or philanthropist and are interested in sponsorship opportunities for Lakeside, please email Brian Wallace, MAPS Director of Field Development.
MAPS is currently seeking further donations of goods and/or services to be auctioned off at this event. Whether its artwork, a gift certificate for bodywork, or something else entirely, we welcome your contribution to this event.
