Description:From anthropologists investigating the traditional uses of ayahuasca in shamanic contexts to scientists exploring its potential use as a treatment for addiction, mainstream interest in the psychedelic brew has expanded dramatically over the last decade.
On Wednesday, July 6, EarthRise at IONS will host a screening of Richard Meech’s new documentary Vine of the Soul: Encounters with Ayahuasca.
The screening will also be a chance to meet veteran psychedelic researcher Ralph Metzner, Ph.D., who worked with Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert on the original Harvard Psilocybin Project.
MAPS encourages anyone interested in ayahuasca, indigenous medicine, or the movement of ancient medicines into mainstream science to attend this event.
