Angelica Garcia serves as MAPS’ Professional Education Manager, focusing on psychedelic therapy training and education initiatives, supporting program execution and development for international programs. Since 2019, Angelica has helped produce numerous education events focusing on operations, admissions, scholarships, and curriculum development.
Angelica aims to advance psychedelic therapy training and education programs through a trauma-focused lens. She is passionate about making psychedelic education inclusive and accessible to all, especially communities of color and those who have been historically underrepresented in clinical research. Angelica was the lead for the Health Equity Leadership Program for Practitioners at Lykos Therapeutics (now Resilient Pharmaceuticals), and served on the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion council. At MAPS, Angelica is focused on initiatives highlighting the need for cultural adaptation in psychedelic therapy training and practice in various international contexts, emphasizing the importance of integrating local community-based practices and traditional wisdom into standards of care. Embedded throughout her life and career is a passion for fighting to dismantle systems of oppression for individual and collective liberation.
