Effects of MDMA on Startle Testing in Healthy Volunteers: Atlanta, Georgia

This study will investigate the effects of MDMA on startle testing learning in healthy volunteers in comparison a placebo control. This MAPS-sponsored study is conducted by Principal Investigator Barbara Rothbaum, Ph.D., at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Location: The Brain Health Center of Emory University at Executive Park 12, Atlanta Georgia

The study protocol has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and approved by an Institutional Review Board.

In order to enroll, you must live in Atlanta, Georgia, be between the ages of 21 and 55 years old, must have previously used MDMA in a recreational or experimental setting and must have the ability to visually read and understand the English language. The study will require three visits. Visit 1 will require approximately 4 hours, Visit 2 will occur 24 hours after Visit 1 and will require approximately 7 hours, and Visit 3 will occur 48 hours after Visit 2 and will require approximately 1 hour.
