In this episode of the Lions of Liberty Podcast, I welcome in Brad Burge, Director of Communications and Marketing for MAPS – the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies. Brad explains how he first became interested in the medical uses of psychedelics and how it led him to his current position with MAPS. Brad and I discuss the various medical benefits that psychedelic drugs such as MDMA, LSD, and ayahuasca have been shown to have in conjunction with therapy for people with various mental illnesses such as PTSD. Brad describes how MAPS has been able to study these drugs in a safe, scientific environment, how the War on Drugs has hindered medical advancement on these drugs, and how the future looks for psychedelic medicine.
