Experience the profound healing potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness through Holotropic Breathwork in the desert at Joshua Tree, CA. Holotropic Breathwork was developed by Dr. Stan Grof using principles based on insights from modern consciousness research, his personal experience with LSD psychotherapy back in the 60’s, and historical spiritual practices.
Events will include Holotropic Breathwork, optional Yoga, Mandala Collage, integrative dance and much more. Joshua Tree Retreat Center is the oldest and largest retreat center in the Western United States; a unique architectural landmark designed by Frank Lloyd Wright on a 384 acre sacred site with a large Pool, Hot Tub, Meditation Paths, a Labyrinth and a Medicine Wheel.
The land has been called a “magnetic anomaly” and has been tested with sensitive electromagnetic equipment that confirms that it is a unique energetic “vortex”. There are only two places in the world classified as such…a place in Bryce Canyon, Utah, and the land at Joshua Tree Retreat Center.
Due to its profound healing effects, Dr. Grof and Jack Kornfield have jointly led numerous combination breathwork/meditation retreats at this center over the years.
The retreat will start on Saturday Sept 29rd at 10:30 am and end after breakfast on Monday the October 1st. However, participants that need to get to work on Monday will be able to depart after dinner on Sunday. The early bird registration cost for the event is $479 which includes gourmet catered meals from Saturday lunch to Monday breakfast, two night’s lodging in spacious rooms, breathwork sessions, optional yoga, mandala drawing, integrative dance and access to all venue facilities including pool and hot tub.
In addition, we will be organizing an optional private sound bath for our group at the world famous Integratron on Monday at noon for those of you who can stay over. The Integratron is a historical structure — a resonant tabernacle dome sited on a powerful geomagnetic vortex near Joshua Tree. You will be resting comfortably in the deeply resonant, multi-wave sound chamber while a sequence of quartz crystal singing bowls are played, each one keyed to the energy centers or chakras of the body, where sound is nutrition for the nervous system. The results are waves of peace, heightened awareness, and relaxation of the mind and body.
