November 17 – 18, 2017
From the event website:
Psychedelic Psychotherapy Forum invites you to voyage together as a conscious community this coming November, in Victoria, BC!
This event kicks off on Friday evening, Nov 17, 2017, with a networking hour, and later, a panel discussion entitled Holotropic Breathwork as Psychedelic Medicine: Looking Forward, Looking Back — headlined by Dr. Stan Grof (who is joining via live video conferencing), Dr. Ingrid Pacey, Dr. Donna Dryer, and Carolyn Green, Ph.D. This will be followed by a full-day of professionally facilitated Holotropic Breathwork sessions, and integration, on Saturday, Nov 18, 2017 — led by certified Grof facilitators Dr. Ingrid Pacey and Carolyn Green, Ph.D.
Dr. Ingrid Pacey notes that “Holotropic Breathwork as developed by the Grofs, IS psychedelic medicine. It can be as powerful as MDMA, LSD, psilocybin and other psychedelic medicines. I have seen this in my work with Holotropic Breathwork since 1986 and with MDMA since research began 2005.” She adds: “Holotropic Breathwork is now part of training for all MAPS Phase 3 research therapists. It provides the opportunity to enter an altered state and also to then be witness/therapist for another’s journey. Trainees have reported that they see how Holotropic Breathwork and MDMA psychotherapy feed each other and propel the work. Holotropic Breathwork can provide a safe introduction into future work with psychedelic substances as it is self-generated by the breath. It can also provide opportunities for integration and resolution after psychedelic therapy.”
