Summary: ENDPAIN published a new video, MDMA: Stories of Treatment, featuring interviews from Principal Investigator Marcela Ot’alora, and study participants from MAPS’ clinical trials researching MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD.
“With MDMA, by having that be active, that’s how then you get a lot of insight. You get to use your intelligence, you get to really understand how the trauma affected your life and maybe even things you didn’t know and connections that you didn’t make before,” Ot’alora.
“The MDMA was like this light, and the therapists with me were like these guides almost and I could kind of see around the cave and figure out how to get out of there,” MDMA-study participant James.
“Through the MDMA and the therapy, I was able to look at these things and it was actually easier than all the work of keeping it down and keeping it all at bay and keeping it shut,” MDMA-study participant Karen. “I literally could feel my heart opening up and swelling with love for myself for the first time.”
